GST Tax Exemption

centre d'aide

From December 14, 2024 to February 15, 2025, the Canadian government is eliminating the GST on certain items.

Why does GST still appear on my order?

We understand that this may be confusing, and we thank you for your understanding. Although the Government of Canada grants a tax exemption for the holiday season, our platform does not automatically remove taxes at the time of purchase.

To comply with the Canadian government's GST exemption, we apply a 5% discount directly to the pre-tax price of the item. This means that even if the tax still appears in your shopping cart, you still benefit from a discount equivalent to this tax.

Can I get a price adjustment on my product purchased before December 14?

As the tax exemption only takes effect from December 14, purchases made before this date cannot be discounted.

Which categories of goods are eligible for exemption?

The exempted categories are:

  • Children's clothing
  • Children's footwear
  • Printed books
  • Food or beverages
  • Select children's toys
  • Jigsaw puzzles for all ages

Please note that the tax exemption is visible on eligible products in the “Unit price” column of your shopping cart.

Does the tax exemption also apply to already reduced products?

Yes, the GST exemption applies to eligible products, whether on promotion or not, as long as the purchase is made between December 14, 2024 and February 15, 2025.

Does the GST exemption apply to online and in-store purchases?

Yes, the tax exemption applies to both online and in-store purchases, as long as the products qualify and the purchase is made during the period from December 14, 2024 to February 15, 2025.
